Puente Pacífico is led by Darin Bifani, a United States citizen residing in Santiago, Chile.

In addition to his business and risk management experience, he has over seventeen years of legal experience. Apart from Santiago, he has been based in New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong and has worked on over 250 matters with a combined total value of billions of dollars, many of which included cross-regional or cross-border components.

He previously served as Managing Director, Regional Counsel for Cushman & Wakefield Capital Asia and was responsible for legal and risk management oversight of the firm’s real estate investment banking and real estate asset management businesses worldwide.

He gained additional in-house experience through secondments to GE Capital and Lehman Brothers and has private practice experience with Sullivan & Cromwell (New York and Tokyo), Paul Hastings (Tokyo) and Baker & McKenzie (Santiago).

He has worked on numerous matters in countries in Latin America, including Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Guatemala, Panama, Mexico and Venezuela.

In addition to transactional work he has written articles or made presentations on various business, risk management or legal topics.  He is also currently writing a book for Euromoney on managing investment risk.

He is proficient or has a working knowledge of a number of languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Italian and French.

He graduated magna cum laude from University of Buffalo Law School, where he was Executive Editor of the Law Review and graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York at Albany.
